Patrick McNamara Partner, Scarinci Hollenbeck
Patrick McNamara is a partner in the law firm of Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC. He has served since 1994 as General Counsel to NAFFS. Pat also serves as General Counsel to the Chemical Sources Association and the Society of Flavor Chemists. Pat is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His practice includes the representation of numerous businesses in the food, flavor and fragrance industries.
Pat has authored or collaborated on numerous articles on legal developments of interest to the food and flavor industry. His articles have been published in Perfumer & Flavorist, Food Executive Magazine, Food Product Design Magazine, Development New Jersey, the New Jersey Law Journal, as well as his law firm’s various blogs.
Pat is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and is a past chair of its Environmental Law Section. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce, and was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Monmouth Ocean Development Council. He received his Bachelors, Masters and Law degrees from Rutgers University.
This will be the 22nd year that Pat has been a speaker at the NAFFS convention.
Bob Bauer Executive Director, NAFFS
Bob Bauer is the executive director of the National Association of Flavors and Food-Ingredient Systems, headquartered in Neptune, N.J. He has been with NAFFS since 1996, becoming executive director in 1997.
Mr. Bauer is also president of the Association of Food Industries, an international trade association which fosters international trade in food products. The association has approximately 1,000 member companies throughout the world. Mr. Bauer has served as president of AFI since January 2002. Prior to that, he served as vice president of the organization for nearly six years. In 2005 he was appointed to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for trade in Processed Foods. He continues to serve on that committee, having been reappointed three times.

Before joining AFI, Mr. Bauer was a journalist. While working in the newspaper field, he covered everything from town meetings to health-related issues to a wide range of sports, ranging from high school to professional levels. From newspapers, he moved to trade publications in the transportation field and then to the food industry. For the two years prior to joining AFI, he worked as the editor of the grocery section of Supermarket News, the leading trade publication in the supermarket field.
Mr. Bauer attended Temple University for two years and then completed his college education and received his bachelor’s degree from Glassboro State College, now known as Rowan University.
