Photos from NAFFS' 2018 WINTER MEETING
Thank you to all who attended the 2018 NAFFS Winter Meeting at Nanina’s in the Park.
We all enjoyed a great networking breakfast, reuniting with industry friends and colleagues. The beautiful Nanina’s ballroom then served as a great venue for an interesting presentation by beverage innovator, Seedlip founder Ben Branson.
We heard how Ben sourced herbs and vegetables, especially his favorite, the pea, as flavorful ingredients for his invention: The world’s first distilled, non-alcoholic beverage, called Seedlip. Ben fascinated us with the history of his 300 year old family farm and how they have been growing peas and other herbs all of these years. He showed us (without revealing the secret!) how he came upon distilling a new concoction, by researching how it has always been done.
Ben offered every one present the chance to personally taste two of his favorite, signature “stirs” and notice the vast difference in taste and flavor between the two, particularly when they were combined with other flavors he also brought along. Fresh lime and ginger among the best!
Nanina’s treated us to a four-course, gourmet luncheon and dessert treats. A wine pairing was made possible by our Wine Pairing Sponsor, Citrus & Allied. Some of us were experiencing their very first NAFFS meeting, getting to know industry people and putting faces with the emails and voices. It was a lovely, worthwhile day and again, we thank our sponsors and of course everyone who was able to attend and share throughout the day. See you next year!
